Gerry E. Studds is pleased with the new Museum in Washington honoring "victims of Nazi terror." His reason? Because Studds estimates that 63,000 Germans were convicted of crimes related to "homosexual degeneracy" between 1933 and 1944. He also says that up to 12,000 homosexuals were imprisoned in the camps. The Holocaust Museum is giving attention to these homosexuals. Says Studds, "For too long, the Nazi victimization of (homosexual) people has remained a secret little known and seldom mentioned. The curators of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum have taken an important step in redressing this neglect." In addition, Studds added, it is important for homosexuals to be commemorated (at considerable taxpayer expense!) because, "unlike those who could marry and have children, many (homosexuals) perished with no one but us to remember them." (I don't know if the "us" means other homosexuals or Americans).

As a matter of interest, Gerry Studds is a homosexual and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (D-Mass.)!

In the 1940s an American Philosopher wrote, "When a nation's leaders become fools, the people must suffer." I don't know what else you would call it when a nation's leaders commit the hard earned resources of its citizens to an expensive memorial to an immoral lifestyle, but I would not call it "wisdom." For years now the entertainment and media industries have been leading us to accept homosexuality as an "alternative" lifestyle. Our own government now seems to be in that business as well.

Has God's will changed since the time of Sodom and Gomorrah? Has God's will changed since Paul's denunciation of homosexuality in Romans 1 or 1 Cor. 6? God willed for a MAN to leave his parents and for a WOMAN to leave her parents and for these two to become ONE FLESH. Gen. 2:24. Any other arrangement devised by man falls outside of God's plan and is wrong. Read Leviticus 20:13.

I sympathize with some of the people trapped in a homosexual lifestyle. Some Christian counselors tell us that, as a rule, homosexuals are not happy people. Many of them were "trapped" into homosexuality by incest and abuse that was forced upon them as children. Tragic. Today, as adults, they may despise their lifestyle but feel trapped by their experiences and thus unable to make the necessary changes to a heterosexual lifestyle.

That is sad. But, rather than our country fostering an atmosphere where homosexuality can be practiced openly with social acceptance, our country should create an environment where homosexuality can be openly confessed and repented of and competent counseling provided. Instead of showing homosexual lovers on TV enjoying the "alternate" lifestyle, why not show some of the TRUE stories of men and women tormented by their homosexuality to the point that they sought counseling and change?

TV Programming and our latest government action are sending very dangerous signals to young men (and women) who are unsure of their "Preference." These young men should be informed that certain circumstances (i.e., abuse, incest, "smother-mothering", being cross-dressed as a child, etc.) may have them confused about their sexual identity, but there are capable Christian counselors today who can help them understand their situation, understand God's will, and make the right choices from this time forward.

Commemorating a lifestyle that God has condemned? "When a nation's leaders become fools..."

Note: The saying "love the sinner, hate the sin" applies here. Social acceptance of homosexuality may seem polite and open-minded. In reality, however, it leads to the eternal condemnation of the sinner. The sinner perceives "everything is ok" and makes no attempt to repent. It is a grave mistake, for the sinner and for us, to accept what God condemns. We do the sinner a favor when we lovingly and truthfully point out the sin. "Whoever turns a sinner away from his error will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins." James 5:20.
