For the encouragement of all let me assure you that the "message" in The Examiner is spreading rapidly and is being accepted by HUNDREDS of saints all over the country. When I say "accepted," I do not mean that it is necessarily NEW to them, because many of them have thought about and/or recognized the truth of this "message" long before The Examiner started. This paper has only helped confirm their faith and given them encouragement in realizing that there are many others "out there" who share the same concerns and views.

When I say that this "message" is spreading rapidly I am not just blowing smoke! It is a fact and the evidence is sure and certain. When I say "hundreds" are accepting it, that is being reserved. We are moving toward the "thousands" and spreading rapidly in some areas. TEXAS is leading the way! This is being accomplished by YOU--the individual saints who are talking and studying with others; and who are sending names of Christians to whom this paper can be sent.

YOU ARE THE KEY! Accepting your responsibility to share this "message" of "repentance and recovery" with other disciples, endeavoring to call out that "remnant" who truly love God, His truth, and want to walk in His ways. They are heart-sick and weary with all this institutional religion (denominationalism), the clergy system, the heavy emphasis and financial burden of larger buildings and sanctuaries, the ritualistic "worship services," and the dictatorial rule of the Eldership. In addition, they know that the whole Church of Christ Church movement is divided and rapidly losing its members and its influence for good. They are tired of being SLAVES OF MEN in these church institutions! They are hungering and thirsting after righteousness found only in Christ Jesus.

This "remnant" of saints is coming out of the Babylon of church institutions. It will take some time for all of them to build the knowledge, faith and courage to make this move; but those of the honest and good heart will do it. THEN they can say with meaning: "Free at last, free at last; Praise God Almighty, I'm free at last." Only the Lord knoweth their number. They will stand before Him as individuals, accepting their personal responsibility to do His will, and go share the "message" with others. They have only one Shepherd, only one Lord, only one Master, only one Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. They will pay the price and make the sacrifice. Dear brother and sister, will YOU join their number?

The Examiner is incidental and only a medium for the dissemination of the "message" and a means of helping those of the "remnant" to find each other; and to gather with others, as is good, to encourage one another to love and good works. Even if this paper should cease, nothing essential to the "remnant's' recovery and survival is lost. The power lies in Jesus Christ and His word--Old and New Covenant Scriptures. Our faith does NOT "rest on the wisdom of men" nor is it built on the institutions of men, "but on the power of God."

In the words of the Holy Spirit:

"Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For WE are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I will dwell IN THEM and walk among THEM; and I will be THEIR God, and THEY shall be MY PEOPLE. Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate," says the Lord. "And do not touch what is unclean; and I will welcome you. And I will be a Father to you, and YOU shall be sons and daughters to Me," says the Lord Almighty.

The "message" is the same today as it was time and time again to God's people. The call was to individuals. God has ever been engaged in calling and preserving that faithful "remnant." Jesus spoke of this special group as His "sheep." He said: "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep." The problem lies with the people themselves. They were not of His sheep because they were NOT of an honest and good heart, not willing to forsake all and follow Him. His very next statement was: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me..." (John 10:26-27). Jesus said that He KNEW His sheep (and I think this is true even before they become His sheep in reality). He knows His sheep today. They will hear His voice and they will follow Him. When they sing, "Where He leads me I will follow," they truly mean it, and it is evident in their life. They are willing to pay the price, make the sacrifice, and be faithful even if it means their death. Oh! To be indeed one of His sheep! When the test comes they will stand. They will go with Jesus wherever He leads. Are YOU one of His sheep? Really? How do you know? Are you a part of the Lord's "remnant?" Are you willing to accept His "message?" "For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, AND FEW ARE THOSE WHO FIND IT" (Matt. 7:14). The choice is yours, but what a choice it is!--CAH
