Probing Personal Questions

Have you talked with your Heavenly Father today? Have you allowed Him to talk to you through His revealed word? As husband and wife have you together done both of the above? As parents with the children have you together engaged in both? These are vital matters, but so easily neglected in the rush of life's activities. Prayer is not a ritual, it is an open, honest talk with our Father who is in heaven; about anything and everything that concerns us. "Take it to the Lord in prayer." He cares and He will help us.

We can take our burden to the Lord and leave it there; meaning, I think, take our sins, our guilt, before Him, ask for and receive His forgiveness as His children. Isn't that wonderful? Aren't you thankful you are His child and that you have such a gracious, loving Father? Yet so often we fail or neglect to pray, talk to Him. We do not "seek His face" by going to His word. Thus we trudge through life burdened and heavy laden. How sad.

Listen to the hope, comfort and joy of these words:

Sweet hour of prayer? Sweet hour of prayer, that calls me from a world of care, and bids me at my Father's throng make all my wants and wishes known; in seasons of distress and grief my soul has often found relief, and oft escaped the tempter's snare, by thy return, sweet hour of prayer.

Do you have a "sweet hour of prayer" daily or more often? And a time for the Father to speak to you? If not, you are failing to utilize the greatest blessings of a child of God. Don't neglect your blessings. Talk to your Father and let Him talk to you. -- CAH.
